The Centre is responsible for new media research and development in the broad field which we have defined as knowledge media.

Our work involves the development of short life-cycle working prototypes of technologies or concepts that we believe will influence the future of open learning within a 3-5 year timescale.

Our prototypes themselves are not solely for the traditional Open Learning market, but include a remit to show how that market can and will change with technology.
This vision includes prototyping for education at all levels and in all forms!
